Report on Alternate Business Structures for Law Firms

The ABA’s Commission on the Future of Legal Services has published a report on alternate business structures for law firms, which if adopted by the ABA, would permit non-lawyer ownership of law firms. The adoption of such business structures would have a critical impact on the future of the profession and the manner in which we practice law.


TDLA and DRI are asking you to express your opinions on the viability of such structures and the manner in which they will affect our collective future. 


The Commission is calling for comments on their report; the deadline, however, is extremely tight with all commentary due by Monday, May 2nd.
