Electronic discovery continues to evolve with courts expecting greater transparency and cooperation among adversaries and their attorneys.  Recent FRCP amendments as well as state procedural laws continue to place greater emphasis on attorneys knowing the nuts and bolts of their clients’ technology systems as well as specific protocols to be used to preserve, collect and exchange electronically stored information.  John Jablonski, former chair of DRI’s E-Discovery Committee, several national e-discovery conferences and current member of ARMA International’s board of directors will provide practical tips on navigating today’s e-discovery challenges.

 

Cybersecurity, GDPR and More

The session will provide a brief overview of cybersecurity including key concepts such as cyber threat, risk management and breach response, and will conclude with some practical cybersecurity tips.  The discussion also will provide an overview of the EU’s new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), with an emphasis on what the regulation means for clients’ business and for lawyers’ obligations in discovery.
